Australian bankers are the region's happiest

Australian bankers are the happiest with their pay compared with their counterparts in Hong Kong, Singapore and China, according to a survey by eFinancialCareers. But as WSJ's Sydney Bureau Chief Andy Critchlow tells Deborah Kan, the elated sentiment may not last for long.

BT Group PLC’s BT +0.90%   U.S.-listed shares rose 5.1% after the British telecommunications operator said it reached an agreement that will cut its pension shortfall by almost 50%.

Glu Mobile Inc.’s GLUU -2.44%  shares climbed 9.3% after Needham initiated coverage of the wireless-game maker with a strong buy rating.

NCIT Inc.’s NCIT -2.33%   shares jumped 19% after the provider of technology, engineering and other services said the Air Force awarded it a seven-year contract with as much as $1.9 billion.
Decliners

KBH Home KBH -0.62%  shares declined 15% after the home builder reported new orders fell in the first quarter.

Layne Christensen Co.’s LAYN -1.41%  shares slid 14% a day after the provider of construction and other services said an internal probe uncovered potential evidence of improper payments to third parties in Africa, possibly violating U.S. anti-corruption laws.
