The bearish sentiment is quite high indeed, which may limit the downside move. But even with that, last summer the sentiment had been at the same bearish levels for quite a long time, and the market basically range bounded in a 100 point range for 3 months. I don't see how the market can just quickly bottom out right now. It is likely to take some time too. Look at the VIX, it has not even spiked at all.

Your CME buy was pretty good. In case it goes down next week, a stop at break even is probably a good idea to at least prevent it becoming a loss. Just in case, you never know.
