A colleague of mine who lives in Germany gets to see first hand what is going on. He says, social unrest is VERY high, especially in Spain, Greece, France and even Germany. In Greece and Portugal, food shelves are completely empty and censorship of news is everywhere. He has not seen a single news report in Germany about the empty food stores in Greece or the abandoned buildings filled with squaters or the violent protests or the abandoned hotels that closed because there are no tourists, or the 25% unemployment in Spain or the record murder rates etc etc etc. The running joke is that censorship of news in Germany is as high as before WWI when a propaganda war began. Soon after that, we all know what happened.
