Surprise!
Google's earnings are out early and they are well short of expectations.
EPS came in at $9.03 versus expectations of $10.65.
Revenue is $11.33 billion versus expectations of $11.83 billion.
We're reading over the release now and will be adding more key numbers below.
The stock is crashing, falling 10%. (We're trying to figure out what's driving the stock down and how Google whiffed.)
This is very odd. We've never seen a company file in the middle of the day. We're reaching out to Google to find out what happen.
In the filing, at the top it says "PENDING LARRY QUOTE," so it seems that Google wasn't ready to release these earnings yet. Regardless, the cat's out of the bag here.
