Hey dvork - Nice!!!  I don't even have a cellar.  I simply pile up my collections of dozens cases in the basement.  You are so lucky living in the bay area so that you can visit napa and sonoma easily.  Nice!

Since you have celler, it's more convenient for you to storage wines.  If I were you, I would continue buying every year to prepare for the drinking in the future because it takes time for wine to age to its prime.

Nay ... a wine fridge cannot hold my hundreds bottles.  I need a temperature controlled celler.

It should be fine for now because the temperature in my basement is steady.
