Charles I. Plosser, 66, former dean of the University of Rochester Simon Business School, is retiring from his job as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Fed said Monday that Plosser will step down March 1.
Fisher, 65, had said previously he planned to leave the Fed in April.
Plosser and Fisher's successors will be chosen by business leaders in their respective regions, with the approval of the Washington-based Fed Board. |
