[放炮] I do not understand why XIV and VIX are both up?

VIX not tradable.
Also, no ETF associated with it directly.

VIX up. means fears increase.
XIV up, means market up or to be going up. A market staying at high level, even flat or slightly down. XIV will still up because of market uptrend.

I did post a simplified relation of XIV vs. SPX/ES. If you need, ask aimei to locate where it is.

XIV
Inverse ETF is VXX.
VIX is NOT its inverse ETF.

VIX is the anticipate within two months, simple saying, of market movement.
